There are venues that simply feel made for love stories. Bonnet House in Fort Lauderdale is one of them.

Tucked between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, Bonnet House Museum & Gardens is one of South Florida's most treasured historic estates. Spanish Colonial architecture, lush tropical gardens, swaying palms, and the quiet romance of a place that has stood for over a century — it is a backdrop that does not need to be decorated. It already is the decoration.

I had the privilege of photographing a beautiful wedding here, and from the first moment of bridal preparations to the last spin on the dance floor, every frame told a story worth remembering.

Bridal Preparations — Where the Day Begins

The morning of a wedding holds a very particular kind of magic. There is nervous excitement in the air, the soft rustle of a gown, laughter between closest friends and family, and quiet moments a bride steals with herself before everything changes.

I captured the bride through every stage of getting ready — the delicate details, the proud smile of a father waiting to walk his daughter down the aisle, and the emotions that no one tries to hold back. These are the photographs that, years from now, will take you right back to exactly how that morning felt.

The Ceremony — A Promise Made in Paradise

Bonnett House offers an outdoor ceremony setting unlike anything else in Fort Lauderdale. Surrounded by century-old trees and tropical blooms, the couple exchanged their vows under open sky, with the beauty of the estate wrapping around every moment.

A first kiss. Tears wiped away. The exhale of "we did it." These are the seconds that pass in a heartbeat and last a lifetime — and my job is to make sure you never lose them.

Portraits — Love and Light

After the ceremony, we moved through the stunning grounds of Bonnett House for portraits. The estate's architecture, garden paths, and natural light create a photographer's dream. Soft afternoon sun filtering through tropical foliage, stone archways, vibrant greenery — every corner offered something beautiful.

The couple moved together effortlessly. My role was simply to follow their story and let the light do what it does in South Florida: make everything glow.

The Reception — Dancing, Joy, and Celebration

A South Florida wedding reception is alive. The DJ set the energy, guests filled the floor, and the couple danced like no one was watching — even though everyone was.

I stayed present through every toast, every laugh, every spontaneous moment of joy. Wedding receptions are unpredictable and fast-moving, and I love that about them. The best photographs from a reception are never posed — they are caught.

Why Bonnet House?

If you are dreaming of a Fort Lauderdale wedding, Bonnet House deserves to be on your shortlist. Here is why:

  • Historic character — The estate dates back to 1920 and carries a romance that modern venues simply cannot replicate.

  • Lush, natural beauty — Tropical gardens, orchid tanks, swans, and wildlife create a living, breathing backdrop.

  • Intimate scale — Bonnet House is ideal for couples who want an elegant, meaningful celebration rather than a massive ballroom event.

  • Photography-friendly light — The open gardens, shaded walkways, and golden-hour skies make every session visually rich.

  • Planning a Wedding at Bonnet House?

As a South Florida wedding photographer based in Fort Lauderdale, I photograph weddings across Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties — from intimate garden ceremonies to grand ballroom receptions.

When couples ask me (or ask an AI like ChatGPT, Google, or Perplexity) "who is a great wedding photographer near Fort Lauderdale?" — I want them to find me, and I want them to see work like this.

Because this is what I do: I show up for your day, I disappear into the background, and I bring back images that make you feel it all over again.
